More shots at Ocean's Reach

I really had no direction in which I wanted to go when I started this blog.  I love Sanibel and I love photographs so that is what I am sharing so far.  I really love vacations, but I also love seeing and am inspired by the crafty and d-y-i items I see on everyone's blog.  So possibly in the future (yeah... still dreaming about that too) I will have a post or two on that subject. In the meantime I will share  more photos of my beloved Sanibel Island and Ocean's Reach.

This one is the pathway to the beach again.  I just think they have the prettiest walkways.  You have the soft peach of the building, the greens of the bushes and tress and then the vibrant colors of the flowers blooming mixed with the white of the pool gate and the turquoise of the ocean on the horizon...sigh....can you tell where I want to be....LOL

Heaven on earth...can you hear the gentle lapping of the waves and feel the soft ocean breezes?

That's my umbrella you see in the distance.  One of these days I will have a permanent umbrella perched on this island beach somewhere.  Until then I have my vacations and my photos to tide me over.......hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

Linking with Dwellable.  I have a few more posts on Ocean's Reach if you are interested just scroll through or use the labels on the sidebar.

  1. oh so so beautiful.. we are relocating fr ND to NE Fl later this year/early next year to the Flagler Beach area.. but yes, we've heard Sanibel.. is amazing... great shelling, but rentals are hard to come by for long term rentals.. perm residents and very pricey... It look simply beautiful!

    1. You are lucky to be moving to sunny FL. I've never been to Flagner but I bet it is very nice. Once you are settled you must make a trip to Sanibel. It is a little pricier than mainland FL. That is why it is just a vacation destination and not a perm home, YET. One of these days my dream will come true......fingers crossed...

  2. I can understand why you love Sanibel. I lived in Naples for years and for a while Ft. Myers. While living in Ft. Myers I work on Sanibel for the Islander Newspaper...it is a beautiful island.

    1. I have only passed thru Naples once but it is a lovely town. I would absolutely love to be close enough to Sanibel to make a drive for a weekend stay or even a day trip...one of these days....

  9. Hopefully the snowbird exodus will begin after Easter & we'll be able to drive on to the island again without sitting in the traffic jam & trying to make a left turn while the parade of bicycles pass by.

    1. Oh Kaybe - that is why I do not come during the "snowbird" season. I like feeling like the island is all mine - and I hate traffic!!!

  10. Roxanne,

Thanks so much for the photos of Sanibel!! My friend, Donna, who shared her shells for the wreath that I made, always talks about how beautiful the island is. I so want to go! It is about 10 hours from my house, so we would probably have to do it in 2 days.
Do you live there full time?

    Thanks for visiting Butterbean Row!

  11. Hi Roxanne! How nice to meet a fellow blogger who feels the exact same way about Sanibel as I do! :) My hubby and I have been vacationing there for 25 years and are always dreaming of living there. Maybe if we win the lotto..... :) But Sanibel has become our 2nd home for two weeks every spring...and we love her dearly! :)

  12. You are indeed lucky to get to spend two weeks. I only get to spend one. My travelling companion (my brother) hasn't been quite as smitten with the island as I have so one week we go somewhere else. Thanks for stopping by and leaving the comment. I feel a "kinship" with anyone who loves the islanmd like I do. I'm dreaming about that lotto win too cause that is where you will find me!!

  13. Hi Roxanne! I just found your blog via the Ocean's Reach Blog, which I follow. We (me, my daughter & granddaughter) love Ocean's Reach and Sanibel. We have been lucky to go almost every year since my granddaughter was nine and she is now nineteen. In fact, my granddaughter is pictured on Ocean's Reach web page. We were there when they went green and she is pictured at the recycling bin. We try to rent our favorite condo each time. My sister and her family also love Ocean's Reach and Sanibel. One of my nieces was married there. I dream of living there full time. . . Thank you for sharing your photos and thoughts.

    1. Hi Sue. I remember that post with your granddaughter at the bin. Ive only been fortunate enough to stay at Oceans Reach twice. I love Sanibel and I really like Oceans Reach as well. I love that you have a tradition to go with your girls each year. That is what I am trying to establish with my niece. She will be four on our third trip. Stop by anytime. I have lots more photos to share.
